Today I took 3 hours to leave and I went to visit the Chari. Of 3 hours, however, at least two and a half I have spent in traffic.
For those not familiar, Chario is one of the best hi-fi speaker factory in the world, at least according to this writer.
The visit, however, was due to an alleged failure to the tweeters of my speakers Reference 200T, certainly not high end, but more than respectable. In fact a few days ago I purchased a pair of albums in high definition, and I produced the DVD-Audio first. I used the tools open-source Linux, but wrong to neglect the working directory, and then the DVD including the original flac files.
insert the DVD into the player, so good for the first song, while the second surprise was white noise (0 dB, I think). The volume knob was no more than 1 / 3 of the race, but the sound from that moment I felt the same.
omit the various tests done and the differences, which I'll perhaps in a future post, so much so that the doubt you have damaged the tweeters I attacked.
Chario I contacted yesterday, and kindly gave me this morning for their willingness to make appropriate checks.
I had the opportunity to know the owner Mario Murace, very kind person and extremely available, ready to listen to a customer like me in ecstasy of being surrounded by hundreds and hundreds of speakers of the highest quality.
The results of the bench was great, the two speakers are still in excellent condition and fully functional.
Now I will continue to try to understand what has happened to the system or to my ears after that blast of white noise.
